6th Annual Cohutta Clean-Up! (Sunday March 14, 2026)
Back again in 2026 for…
The Cohutta Clean-Up!
What: Spring Cleaning- Wilderness-style! The goal is to sweep through the local area and leave miles of our beautiful mountain gravel rides, trail access roads, and trailheads better than we found them. This is a great opportunity to rid the roadsides of unsightly trash. (Before the leaves fill back in, and the poison ivy branches out again!)
Who: Everyone is welcome to volunteer! We’ll have options for bicycle riders, hikers/walkers, and even trail runners who want to get in on the plogging* action. Youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
When: Sunday March 14, 2026. 9am Meet-Up and Coffee, 10am-2pm Clean Up
Where: Meet at Mulberry Gap (400 Mulberry Gap Road, Ellijay, GA 30540.) From there we’ll divide up into crews and head out to take care of areas possibly including:
CCC Rd towards Eton * FS 68 * FS 90/90B * FS 64 * Shakerag * Bear Creek Overlook / Parking Lot * Cohutta Overlook towards Pinhoti 3 * Tatum Lead Rd towards Pinhoti 4 * Dennis Mill
Cost: FREE! There’s no cost to volunteer and CHILI LUNCH IS INCLUDED along with BEER (or soda) PROVIDED BY TERRAPIN!
* Also, we’d love to invite you to come stay with us for the weekend, or sign up for Breakfast ($16.00 @ 8:30am) or Dinner ($25 @ 6pm.) You can make a reservation at www.MulberryGap.com or give us a call.
Lunch!: We’ll be having an afternoon lunch included in the day based around Mulberry Gap’s famous chili when everyone returns for the grand sorting at around 2pm! Please let us know when you sign up if your group plans to stay for the chili lunch.
What should I bring?: We’ll provide basic items like trash bags and safety vests.
Plan to bring your bike and gear (if you’d like to be part of a rolling team) or the things you need for walking/hiking/jogging if you’ll be part of a team on foot.
An empty backpack or rucksack that you can wear while walking/cycling would be a good idea so you don’t have to carry your trash and recycling bags by hand.
Bring all the normal things you’d need to be out on the trails/roads like hydration, sunscreen, insect repellent, etc. Work gloves might come in handy.
Plan to bring a lunch (unless you just plan to hold out until 2pm) There will be a potluck centered around Mulberry Gap’s Chili when we return!
How Do I Get Involved: Sign up below to let us know you’re coming, and if you’re staying for chili. You can also book housing and meals if you’d like to stay for the weekend at MulberryGap.com. If you’d just like to order meals on the day, give us a call or drop an email to reservations@mulberrygap.com. Please give us at least 72 hours’ notice.
*Plogging- A combination of jogging with picking up litter (Swedish: plocka upp) It started as an organized activity in Sweden around 2016 and spread to other countries in 2018.

DIRT DON’T HURT - March 20-22 - 20th Anniversary Bash!
🎉 Dirt Don’t Hurt: 20 Years at Mulberry Gap
March 20–22 | Season 20 Kickoff Bash
Twenty years in, and we’re kicking off Season 20 the best way we know how — by bringing our people together for a weekend of dirt, adventure, food, music, and community.
Join us March 20–22 for Dirt Don’t Hurt, a special anniversary weekend at Mulberry Gap that’s designed to feel a little different than a typical stay — more energy, more connection, and a whole lot of celebrating how far we’ve come (and where we’re headed next).
Expect a choose-your-own-adventure vibe with organized group outings for mountain biking, gravel riding, trail running, hiking, and ADV/moto — all led by friends, locals, and longtime Gap supporters. Ride hard, wander far, or just soak it all in.
We’re planning shared meals, casual hangs, maybe a burrito or two, a mountain of pizza, and live music to round out the evenings. Add in limited-edition event swag & stickers, stories from the trail, and plenty of time to just be together, and you’ve got the idea.
This weekend will be open to overnight guests and day pass folks, with options similar to our early Bearhoti Bike Fest days — welcoming, inclusive, and built for all user groups.
Mostly, this is about celebrating 20 seasons of dirt, grit, growth, and community — and saying thank you to everyone who’s been part of the journey.
Come help us kick off Season 20.
Dirt don’t hurt — but missing this might. 💚
(throwback photo!)
A Note from Kate & Andrew
Unlike most weekends, we plan to participate in this one as much as possible so we can be out there riding and celebrating 20 years of Mulberry Gap in the woods with the community that made it all possible. You will have 5 hours. That's it. All riders and runners/hikers will be required to pedal or run under their own power to designated locations throughout the Chattahoochee National Forest. Destinations in this “scavenger hunt” are unknown until the morning of the race. Maps will be handed out about 5 minutes prior to start with destinations and their point value! You’ll have ~5 minutes to make a strategy, form alliances, and get ready to roll out!
DIAL UP THE DIFFICULTY FOR MORE POINTS! *NEW SCORING SYSTEM*
E-Bike Riders: Every point is worth HALF the face value
Geared Bike Riders: Every point is worth face value
Singlespeed Bike Riders: Every point is worth face value PLUS a 3-ticket bonus for each location visited
Runners/Hikers: Every point is worth DOUBLE the face value
Vintage Bikes: Meet three criteria with your bike - 26" tires - Rim brakes - Triple chainring and you’ll earn a bonus of 8 points!
Example: If Potato Patch is worth 5 points- Ebike riders get 2.5 points, geared bike riders get 5, singlespeeders get 8, and runners get 10!
Riders/Runners will take a picture of themselves or their bike highlighting a trail feature of the specific location in order to earn points. For every point earned, each rider will receive a raffle ticket to put towards the prize or prizes of their choosing.
Each of this year's awesome prizes will be raffled off individually. The more tickets you acquire the better chance you have of winning a prize.
Tickets will NOT be available for purchase, you may only accumulate tickets by reaching as many locations as possible within the given time period. OR
NEW THIS YEAR: Donate any unused gear you have lying around to the Youth Cycling Team! One ticket in exchange for every piece of donated gear!

9:00am - 9:30am - Check-In / Registration in the OFFICE.
9:45am - Pre-Ride/Run meeting OUTSIDE of The Barn to receive maps of the area and the designated locations which riders will seek for point values. The difficulty of accessing the destinations determines the point value. Your mode of transportation can increase (or decrease) the points you earn!
10:00am - The event begins at 10:00am SHARP, leaving you with 5 hours to make it to checkpoints throughout the Cohuttas. By combining certain locations, bonuses will be awarded. All riders will have until 3:00pm to reach as many points as possible. For each minute you are late ½ point will be deducted from the riders score!
3:30pm - The Raffle will take place accompanied by a Mulberry Gap homemade chili dinner (meat and veggie options available), cornbread and dessert. Participants 21+ will receive 2 Cold Beverages included in the event!

Comfy hiking shoes/boots – Your feet will thank you. Your fashion sense… maybe not.
Warm layers – Mountain weather changes faster than your group chat.

Leggings/hiking pants – Yoga chic or lumberjack glam, both are acceptable.
PJs – Bonus points if they’re fuzzy or have ridiculous holiday prints.
Swimsuit – For hot tubbing. Not optional. (Skinny-dipping optional.)
Towel – Unless you enjoy the “cold, damp burrito” look.
Water bottle – Hydrate or you’ll hike like a hungover sloth.
Snacks – Trail mix, chocolate, or literally anything that makes you happy. Sharing optional.
Journal & pen – For your deep thoughts… or doodling stick figures of your hike.
Favorite cozy blanket – Because it’s fall and you deserve main character energy.
Sunglasses & sunscreen – Protect your face, even if the sun’s playing peekaboo.
Headlamp/flashlight – For late-night snack runs or spotting raccoons judging your s’mores technique.
Reusable mug – Coffee, cocoa, wine disguised as “tea”… we won’t ask.
Positive vibes only – (Okay fine, a little sass too. We like that here.)
Questions? Shoot us a message anytime—we’d love to hear from you!

📅 July 25–27, 2025 | 📍 Mulberry Gap – North Georgia Mountains
Wild Women's MILD Weekend!
Not “‘mild mannered"… just “less spicy” intensity! Less grind, more good times. A weekend for women who want to ride at their own pace!
Mild Edition is a laid-back take on our classic Wild Women MTB gatherings—perfect for folks from flatter home trails (looking at YOU, Florida women,) newer riders, those getting back in the saddle, or anyone who prefers flowy trails over full-on sufferfests. Led by Coach Misty Mahoy, this women-only weekend includes chill group rides, optional skill sessions, and tons of opportunities to connect, unwind, and build confidence on the bike. Come solo or rally your ride crew—this one’s about miles that feel good and memories that last.
What’s Included for the $139 base rate:
Meals from Friday dinner to Sunday to-go lunch — Fresh, homemade, and hearty! Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options are available for just $1 extra per meal.
Access to shuttles, bathhouses, hot tubs, and all the extras that make Mulberry Gap your favorite outdoor basecamp
Then add on your 2 nights of accommodations — Choose from cozy private cabins (limited), shared women’s “bunkhouse” cabins, car/van camping spots, or traditional tent sites
Expect social group rides (led, not coached), time to relax and unwind, and plenty of space to make new friends or catch up with your ride tribe.
This is a ride and vibe weekend, not a clinic—so come ready to pedal, hang out, and soak up everything the North Georgia trail scene has to offer.

Florida-based or other Southeast women riders looking for mountain adventure
Intermediate+ mountain bikers comfortable on blue trails and ready for a challenge

We’ll also have sweep runners at the back of all the groups to make sure that no one rocking slower paces gets left behind. <3

Special Shuttle Event: Mountaintown Creek Adventure! (May 25, 2025)
MOUNTAINTOWN SPRING CLEARING JUST HAPPENED! RIDE IT NOW :)
This 1.3 mile Hike-a-Bike section connects Mountaintown directly to the Bear Creek trail system, allowing you to hop over and ride Bear Creek, P1, P2 directly as part of your Mountaintown run. There have been a LOT of trees down for a couple years now, but it’s wide open again!
Check out the Mountaintown route WITH the connector here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/23353459
MOUNTAINTOWN CREEK IS NOT HERE FOR THE FAINT OF HEART, AND THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE "DOWNHILL DAYS!"
When connected with Bear Creek / Pinhoti 1 / Pinhoti 2, Mountaintown will give you around 20 miles of adventurous riding, without that ~10 mile uphill gravel grind to get up to the top!
Our shuttle will knock off more than 10 miles of the mostly uphill climb, dropping you off at the Three Forks trailhead near the start of the Mountaintown Creek Trail.
From there you have 5+ miles of mostly downhill, proper backcountry-feeling singletrack, sticking close to Mountain Creek itself, and splashing through the creek 20 times passing small waterfalls and truly beautiful north Georgia scenery! This has a real remote feel, and is less trafficked, so keep an eye out for downed trees and low hanging branches.
Next you'll take a quick 1.4 mile hike-a-bike to connect to the Bear Creek loop...
After that it's back on the bike for a little choose-your-own adventure! You can head (right) around the outer loop to get in all the Bear Creek miles, or zip across (left) past the Gennett Poplar to skip ahead to P1.
And then it's P1, P2, and a li'l bit of gravel back home to Mulberry Gap to crack open a beer and relax!
Come with friends or meet new riding buddies on the shuttle :)
~$42/PERSON GETS YOU:
TRAIL & ROUTE ORIENATION SESSION WITH COMPLIMENTARY SHUTTLE WHICH WILL DROP OFF AT THE THREE FORKS TRAIL HEAD (NEAR THE START OF MOUNTAINTOWN)
FOLKS TO RIDE WITH ON THIS FAIRLY REMOTE ROUTE
… AND A SACK LUNCH TO TAKE ALONG, AND A BEER (OR SODA) WHEN YOU RETURN!
ABOUT THIS RIDE:
Super simple... if we can get at least six folks it's totally worth it to make the drive! Grab a friend or totally come alone and meet some new folks! This is not a guided ride, just getting folks together who want to go to the same places at the same time. :)
This route will give you a day of around
THE DAY'S SCHEDULE:
8:30 am: Breakfast (only an optional add on)
9:45 am: Grab your included bag lunch to take with you
9:45 am Pre-Departure Trail & Route Orientation Session at the Shuttle Desk
10:00 am: Shuttle departs for the top of Mountaintown (Three Forks Trailhead Parking)
11:00am-ish: Arrive at the Trail Head
then it's all you, baby! Make your way back to Mulberry Gap at your own pace.
The afternoon: Shower, hang out, drink beer, head home... it's up to you :)
6:00 pm: Dinner (only an optional add on)
Is this the right ride for you?
Mountaintown Creek is a less frequently traveled moderate black diamond trail with a lot of creek crossing, a real “backcountry” feel, a hike-a-bike to connect up with Bear Creek, and lots of fun!
